PBU SIFE Team Receives $1000 Award

Biblical University’s SIFE Team
as Recipient of $1,000 Award

SIFE
USA and Campbell Soup Company has chosen Philadelphia Biblical
University’s SIFE Team as a $1,000 prize winner in a Hunger Relief
Competition as part of the national Let’s Can Hunger campaign
initiated by Campbell‘s this year. PBU has also been awarded an
additional $750 for their 2009-2010 business plan to work on hunger
awareness and education. Part of this plan incorporates assisting low
income individuals and the unemployed reduce their dependence on food
banks.
PBU student Rachel Park spearheaded the year-long effort. PBU SIFE Faculty Advisor, Gail Benchener,
and students worked on the business plan throughout the summer. Ms.
Benchener has stated, “We are encouraged by this affirmation of the
work of PBU-SIFE, especially Rachel and her committee. These
awards provide us financial resources going forward to expand efforts
in making a difference in the lives of others who have economic
difficulties.”
