Michael Card Receives Honorary Doctorate from PBU

Langhorne PA: May 16, 2009. Graduates across the
country are preparing to receive their respective diplomas, celebrating
success hard sought after. In Langhorne, PA, Philadelphia Biblical
University prepares its own students for this year’s spring
Commencement Ceremony, taking place on May 16, at 10:00 a.m. Approximately
160 students will graduate from Philadelphia Biblical University,
50 of which will receive a dual degree in both Bible and a chosen
professional field of study.
During this year’s commencement, Philadelphia Biblical University
will confer an honorary Doctor of Religious Education to Michael,
recognizing him as a profound contributor to the PBU community,
significantly challenging students through his music, writing, and
lecture. PBU students will be performing one of Card’s songs
“Jubilee” during the commencement ceremony.
Michael Card began a relationship with PBU nearly two years ago
as part of their annual lecture series on the Arts, Christianity,
and Culture. Dr. Todd Williams, President of the University, has
expressed his gratitude for the contributions Michael has made to
PBU, stating “I believe that his best years of ministry are
yet to come and that his presence on college and university campuses
across the nation and around the world will be used of the Lord
to teach students the importance of authentic Christian faith and
