PBU’s SIFE headed to Philly for national contest
Philadelphia Biblical University’s Students in Free Enterprise group
is headed to Philadelphia this week for a national competition.
The team recently advanced by placing first in their league at the
spring regional championships. The group highlighted 12 of their 27
community service-based projects to industry leaders from Fortune 500
companies. Their work includes: partnership with the YWCA assisting
unemployed workers, helping college students develop financial
literacy, inspiring young entrepreneurs in inner city schools, and
assisting businesses in adopting environmentally-friendly practices.
PBU also earned a top 20 national finalist award in market economics
for their work with entrepreneurs in impoverished areas of the Ukraine.
The college students funded loans for small businesses and taught camps
for unemployed people in that country with Hope International.
